This month, Lise Lindström stars as Barak’s Wife at the Polish National Opera, sharing the stage with Tadeusz Szlenkier as The Emperor, Annemarie Kremer as The Empress, Lindsay Ammann as The Nurse, Krzysztof Szumański as The Messenger of Keikobad and Lauri Vasar as Barak.

Mariusz Treliński’s production sees the piece as a contemporary tale of a mentally exhausted woman, drawing inspiration from the films of Lars von Trier and Ingmar Bergman. The production is an interplay between symbolism and realism; a psychological drama and engrossing visual and musical experience. The performances take place on February 15, 18, 21, 25 and 28. Bassem Akiki conducts.
