'Elektra' at Semperoper Dresden
On March 29, April 1 and 5, Lise Lindstrom returns to Semperoper Dresden as Elektra in Richard Strauss’ opera of the same name.
The one-act melodrama follows the story of Elektra, daughter of King Agamemnon and Queen Klytämnestra, who seeks revenge for her father’s murder. Consumed by rage and grief, Elektra plots to avenge her father’s death by murdering their mother and her lover, Aegisth. The opera culminates in a dramatic confrontation as Elektra’s plans unfold, leading to a fatal conclusion.
Joining Lindstrom in these performances includes Doris Soffel as Klytämnestra, Gabriela Scherer as Chrysothemis, Jürgen Müller as Aegisth, John Lundgren as Orest, Tilmann Rönnebeck as Orest’s Tutor, Christiane Hossfeld as Confidant, Ute Selbig as Trainbearer, Timothy Oliver as Young Servant, Matthias Henneberg as Old Servant, Kelly God as Overseer, Michal Doron as First Maid, Nicole Chirka as Second Maid, Simone Schröder as Third Maid, Roxana Incontrera as Fourth Maid, and Ofeliya Pogosyan as Fifth Maid.
