This December, Lise Lindstrom will perform in a stunning new production of Richard Wagner’s Ring Cycle which will be premiered at Opera Australia featuring direction and production design by the visionary Chinese director Chen Shi-Zheng.

Wagner’s Ring Cycle stands as the pinnacle of operatic achievement—a magnum opus lasting 15 hours, presented throughout four evenings. This musical odyssey unfolds with the collective might of 83 accomplished musicians and the power of 102 voices. Chen Shi-Zheng’s avant-garde take on Wagner’s tale of four operas explores a futuristic narrative, envisioning a global convergence of cultures in a parallel universe. The stage transforms into an immersive virtual world with striking costumes and props offering glimpses into an uncharted future.

Having conducted the Ring Cycle more than a dozen times, the highly regarded French conductor Philippe Auguin is set to lead a cast of international stars and accomplished Australian performers. Among them include Daniel Sumegi as Wotan, Anna-Louise Cole as Sieglinde, Stefan Vinke as Siegfried, and Warwick Fyfe as Alberich.

Ms. Lindstrom will star as Brünnhilde in the first two cycles of the run, with performances of Die Walküre on December 3 and 10, Siegfried on December 5 and 12, and Götterdämmerung on December 7 and 14 at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre in Brisbane.
