Lise returns to Opera Australia to star in Salome

Lise returns to Opera Australia this month to star in the title role of Strauss Salome, which opens on 6 March 2019 at the Sydney Opera House and runs until 26 March. Gale Edwards’ production is revived by Andy Norton and conducted by Johannes Fritzsch. Click here to watch the official trailer.

Lise is a favourite at Opera Australia, with recent appearances including the title role of Turandot and her first Ring cycle which received great critical acclaim.

Lise spoke to Australia’s Limelight magazine as she made preparations for Salome and discusses the role’s myriad challenges, finding empathy for a ruined princess, and why she had to leave Nilsson behind. Read more here! (subscription required).
