Lise Performs Mahler’s 2nd Symphony with Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra
Lise returns to Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra to perform Mahler’s monumental 2nd symphony, conducted by Kirill Karabits at the Lighthouse in Poole, Dorset on 3 October. The Symphony, known as the ‘Resurrection Symphony’, was Mahler’s first major work and established his lifelong view of the beauty of afterlife and resurrection. Scored for a large orchestra with soprano solo, the vocal line joins in the fifth movement with text written by Mahler himself.
Lise has performed at the Lighthouse with Karabits and the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra back in 2015, when she had critical success as Salome in a concert performance of Strauss’s opera, a role she has performed to critical acclaim all over the world, including at the Wiener Staatsoper with Yannick Nezet-Seguin.
