Lise makes her San Francisco Opera debut in The Flying Dutchman
Soprano Lise Lindstrom will join the cast of the San Francisco Opera’s The Flying Dutchman, opening October 22 at the War Memorial Opera House. Praised for her 2010 account of the role in New Orleans, Lise “offered everything one could want in this challenging role — vocal power to spare, gleaming beauty of tone, and flawless intonation.” (Opera News)
Lise stars as Senta, the daughter of a Norwegian sea captain who pledges eternal fidelity to the title mariner in command of a ghostly ship. Lise stars opposite Greer Grimsley as the Dutchman, Kristinn Sigmundsson as her father, Daland, and Ian Storey as Erik, a young man also in love with Senta. Patrick Summers leads the production, directed by Petrika Ionesco. Performances run through November 15.
