Lise Lindstrom’s fall season includes Puccini in Italy, Strauss in Denmark, Austria, and Germany
Lise Lindstrom’s season of performances begins on August 23 and 29 when the American soprano offers her signature account of Turandot at the Festival Puccini in Torre del Lago. Of her most recent appearance in the role of the Peking princess, Opera News raved, “Lindstrom could pin us to our seats with sheer volume and she commands the stage with practiced imperial gestures, but Lindstrom understands that a great Turandot needs to find the moments when the character’s vulnerability can be revealed.”
Lise spends September with Strauss-themed concerts in La Coruña, Spain and Aarhus, Denmark. At the former city’s Palacio de la Opera, she appears in a gala celebrating the 150th anniversary of the composer’s birth on September 13. She then appears with the Aarhus Symphony Orchestra on September 25 and 26 for performances of Vier letzte Lieder. In October, Lise continues in the Straussian vein with a return to the Wiener Staatsoper’s production of Salome, starring as the eponymous princess opposite Alan Held as Jochanaan, October 4, 7, and 10.
Finally, Lise is heard in St. Louis on November 13 as the special guest star for Union Avenue Opera’s 20th Anniversary Gala.
