Lise Lindstrom returns to the Met for Turandot
In her highly anticipated return to New York’s Metropolitan Opera, Lise Lindstrom stars as Puccini’s eponymous heroine in Zeffirelli’s iconic production of Turandot. The American soprano has been heralded for her performance as Turandot, having delighted audiences at the Met in her house debut in 2009, the New York Times raving, “she was dramatically alluring and vocally impressive, winning enthusiastic ovations from the audience…she sang with chilling power and nailed the top notes.”
Lise sings five performances of the role from October 22 through November 7 alongside Marcelo Álvarez and Yusif Eyvazov alternating in the role of Calàf, Leah Crocetto and Hibla Gerzmava as Liù, and James Morris as Timur. Italian conductor Paolo Carignani leads the cast in Zeffirelli’s sumptuous production.
