Elektra, starring Lise Lindstrom, opens November 21 at Opéra de Montréal

On the heels of her triumphant return to The Metropolitan Opera in Turandot, Lise Lindstrom joins Opéra de Montréal to perform the title role in Elektra. Lise revisits the works of Strauss following two critically acclaimed concert performances of Salome with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, The Times declaring that the American soprano “must be regarded as one of the finest living exponents of this fearsomely taxing role. She has the seductive looks, the cruel half-smile, the mesmerising stage presence and, above all, the vocal range and cutting edge.”

Elektra runs from November 21 to 28 and reunites Lise with conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin following Turandot with the Dutch National Opera in 2010. Opéra de Montréal’s production also stars Nicola Beller Carbone as Chrysothemis, Agnes Zwierko as Klytemnästra, John Mac Master as Aegisth, and Alan Held as Orest.
