Lise begins 2020 in the US, singing Barber’s Andromache’s Farewell with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Fabio Luisi conducts the four performances, opening January 9 at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. The rarely performed work often reminds the listener of the great operatic scenes of Wagner and Strauss that Lise regularly performs. Also in the programme is Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade, Copland’s Quiet City and the Dallas premiere of Julia Wolfe’s Fountain of Youth.

Later in the month Lise reprises the title role of Salome at Wiener Staatsoper in a stunning production directed by Boleslaw Barlog. Lise is joined on stage by Herwig Pecoraro, Waltraud Meier and Michael Volle. The performance on 24 January will be livestreamed on staatsoperlive.com
