“A performance of vocal ferocity” at San Francisco Opera

Lise Lindstrom’s debut with San Francisco Opera in the company’s production of Wagner’s The Flying Dutchman was met with applause from both audience members and critics. Playing the role of Senta, the daughter of a Norwegian sea captain who falls in love with a ghostly mariner, Lise was praised by the San Francisco Chronicle for her “performance of vocal ferocity and strength.” The Chronicle went on to cite the California-native’s “potent” high notes and “a welcome ability to carry over the full clamor of the orchestra.”

The Flying Dutchman runs through November 15 at the War Memorial Opera House.
