This January, Lise Sings Brünnhilde at Staatsoper Hamburg

On January 7, 14, and 20, Lise sings Brünnhilde in Claus Guth’s production of Die Walküre at Staatsoper Hamburg.

Lise’s performance as Brünnhilde in Opera Australia’s 2016 Ring Cycle, her first complete Ring Cycle, was met with tremendous acclaim; Time Out praised Lise’s “glorious” performance, highlighting her “winningly warm and penetrating voice,” and BachTrack celebrated her “impressive vocal prowess.” In the summer of 2017, Lise received Australia’s prestigious Helpmann Award for Best Female Performer in an Opera, honoring her “consummate performance” as Brünnhilde (The Sydney Morning Herald).

The upcoming Hamburg production also features Robert Dean Smith (Siegmund), Liang Li (Hunding), Matthias Goerne (Wotan), Jennifer Holloway (Sieglinde), and Mihoko Fujimara (Fricka). Kent Nagano, General Music Director of the Staatsoper Hamburg, conducts the Philharmisches Staatsorchester Hamburg.
