Summer brings Beethoven, Puccini, and Strauss
Lise Lindstrom begins the summer in Prague, singing Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with the Prague Symphony Orchestra at Smetana Hall. Pietari Inkinen leads the June 14 and 15 performances, which also feature mezzo-soprano Jana Hrochová, tenor Jaroslav Březina, baritone Jirí Brückler, and bass Pavel Svingr.
The American soprano then travels to London where she sings four performances of Turandot with the Royal Opera, bringing her “immensely powerful voice” back to Puccini’s ice princess on July 8, 11, 14, and 16 (The Independent)
Rounding out the summer season, Lise sings Elektra in concert at the Verbier Festival under the baton of Esa-Pekka Salonen. Joining a stellar cast that includes Ingela Brimberg, Anna Larsson, Thomas Hampson, and Wolfgang Ablinger-Sperrhacke, Lise performs the title role in Strauss’s one-act drama.
