Die Frau ohne Schatten returns to the stage on Sunday, April 23 with subsequent performances on April 29, May 4, and May 7.

Die Frau ohne Schatten opens at Staatsoper Hamburg

On April 16, Lise Lindstrom makes her role debut in Staatsoper Hamburg’s production of Die Frau ohne Schatten. Lise sings the role of die Färberin in Strauss’s poetic tale, performing alongside Roberto Saccà, Emily Magee, Linda Watson, Bogdan Baciu, Gabrielle Rossmanith, Marta Swiderska and Andrzej Dobber.

Die Frau ohne Schatten is conducted by Kent Nagano and premieres on April 16, with additional performances on April 23, 29; and May 4 and 7.

Lise Lindstrom makes role debut in Die Frau ohne Schatten, sings Turandot at Royal Opera House

This spring, Lise Lindstrom makes her highly anticipated debut as die Färberin in Strauss’s Die Frau ohne Schatten at Staatsoper Hamburg. The American soprano has earned acclaim for her performances as two of Strauss’ title heroines, the Huffington Post praising her for “her powerful voice, tragic or soft when needed,” in Elektra, and the Daily Echo writing that her performance as Salome was a gripping piece of operatic acting switching smoothly between girlish petulance and unsettling calm.” Die Frau ohne Schatten opens April 16 with additional performances on April 23, 29, and May 4 and 7.

Following her engagement in Hamburg, Lise sings Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with the Prague Symphony Orchestra and Houston Symphony Chorus under the baton of Pietari Inkinen. Lise is joined by Jana Hrochová, Jaroslav Březina,Jiří Brückler and Pavel Švingr at Smetana Hall in Prague on June 14 and 16.

Opening the summer, Lise returns to the Royal Opera House to sing the title role in Puccini’s Turandot. Lise takes the stage on July 8, 11, 14, and 16 alongside Aleksandrs Antonenko as Calaf, Dinara Alieva as Liù and Michel de Souza as Timur. Dan Ettinger conducts the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House and Royal Opera Chorus.

Lise Lindstrom’s performance in Opera Australia’s Ring Cycle nominated for Green Room award

Lise Lindstrom’s acclaimed performance of Brünnhilde in Wagner’s Ring Cycle was nominated for a Green Room award in the category of best female lead in an opera. The Green Room awards, accolades granted to the premiere performers and productions in Melbourne, take place at Melbourne’s Comedy Theatre on March 27.

The American soprano, hailed by The Sydney Morning Herald as “a tremendous Brünnhilde,” made her full Ring Cycle debut in the Melbourne production in November of 2016. Explore images from the production.
