Lise Returns to San Diego Opera for Turandot

At the end of February, American soprano Lise Lindstrom returns to San Diego Opera, reprising her iconic Turandot. Critics have continually praised Lise’s portrayal of Puccini’s icy princess, highlighting her “immensely powerful voice” and “magnetic force” (The Independent). Following Lise’s performance of the role at the Metropolitan Opera, The New York Times wrote, “she was dramatically alluring and vocally impressive, winning enthusiastic ovations from the audience.… she sang with chilling power.”

Lise is joined by tenor Carl Tanner (Calàf), soprano Angel Joy Blue (Liù), and bass Brian Kontes (Timur) in this production directed by Keturah Stickann. Valerio Galli conducts.

Performances run February 24 & 27 and March 2 & 4.
