Fall 2017 brings role debut in Wozzeck, and long-awaited first appearance in Korea
Following a triumphant summer – highlighted by the Helpmann Award for Best Female Performer in an Opera for her portrayal of Brünnhilde, and the critically acclaimed performance as Elektra at the Verbier Festival – Lise sets off for an exciting Fall 2017 season.
This October marks Lise’s role and theater debut as Marie in Wozzeck at Vienna’s famous Theater an der Wien. She will join baritone Florian Boesch who sings the title role in Berg’s haunting adaptation of Georg Bücher’s social tragedy brought to the stage by renowned stage director Richard Carsen. Leo Hussain conducts the Wiener Symphoniker. Performances run October 15, 17, 19, 21, 23, and 27.
Later in the fall, Lise returns to the Wiener Staatsoper and the title role in Strauss’s Salome for four performances on November 16, 19, 22, and 25. Conducted by Peter Schneider, this production also features Herwig Pecoraro, Janina Baechle, and Alan Held.
December finds Lise making her long-awaited debut in Seoul, Korea performing her signature role, Puccini’s icy Princess Turandot, in concert at Seoul Arts Center.
